Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s relationship might not have been widely known, but their wedding was enjoyed by many. Their intimate ceremony in Florence, Italy, had many unseen photos shared across social media. When they came back to India, the couple hosted several events, including a grand wedding reception in Delhi. At this event, Virat introduced Anushka to his Punjabi culture by translating folk singer Gurdas Maan’s lyrics during his performance, so she could enjoy them too.
In an interview with Mashable India, Gurdas Maan looked back on his experience at the reception. He shared how much love and respect he received from both Virat and Anushka. He remembered how Virat would lean in and translate the typical Punjabi lyrics to Anushka as he sang, making sure she enjoyed the performance as much as he did.
The singer also revealed that the couple had a surprise planned for him. When everyone was invited to the event, Gurdas Maan felt left out because he hadn’t received an invitation. He thought, “Virat loves me, but he hasn’t invited me.” However, it was all part of a plan. The organizers were instructed not to tell him whose event he was performing at until he arrived at the venue.
Gurdas Maan explained how surprised he was when he found out it was Virat and Anushka’s wedding reception. He started singing and had a great time at the event. Since then, every time he performs in Delhi, people request the same songs he sang at their reception.
Currently, Virat and Anushka are spending time in London with their children, Vamika and Akaay.
